Hi group. I’m new here and I’ve just published a novel, SOMETHING RADIATES, that is both paranormal thriller and romance. Now I’m working on a novel that is entirely different — post-apocalyptic. I’m just curious if any of you ever write in other genres. I’m seriously wondering if I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew. I’m trying a different writing style entirely, first person, kind of terse. It seemed to be going great at first, but now that I’m nearing the end, something seems to be missing. Do you think it’s a bad idea to write in more than on genre?

    • I’ve only finished titles in paranormal, but I have several other genre items in the works. Most of us are relatively unknown and not bound to expectations–so NOW is the time to experiment! (Thought from “Steal LIke and Artist”)

    • I’ve got books published in one genre under one name and then some in another in a pen name. Also new stuff in the works in different gene. When you switch to a new one for the first time it can be overwhelming, but also fun. Wish you the best of luck.
